I know, I know. Tsk tsk! But I am! I know WW is pro fruit and I would love to be pro fruit, but after looking at my tracker the ONLY thing I can possibly imagine contributing to the slow slow slow loss is the fruit/sugar content. So, this week I’ve cut out high sugar fruit (my typical banana, apple and grapes on a daily basis addictiong) and I’m sticking to just berries (raspberries, blackberries and blueberries) to see if it makes any difference. So far, so good. While I only post a weekly weigh I weigh/track daily on a spreadsheet (like a total nut job) to watch the daily fluctuations and see if there are any spikes. Saturday will be the true test when I weigh in for realz!
Food is such a hot topic for me. I just love food. The texture, the quality, the limitless combinations, the memories, all of it. I’m a true foodie. I make a weekly menu for my home and typically follow it – god willing and the creek don’t rise. Last night I made shrimp and cheese stuffed pablano peppers. Delish – however, I don’t really follow recipes and 9 out of 10 times it’s coming from my head. Well, last night I added red pepper flakes to the shrimp mixture and HOLY MOTHER OF HELL did I add them. WOWZERS! Spicy spicy! Kevin has had the flu which has included a miserable cough and he couldn’t eat it. He likes spicy, but it was so spicy it made him cough. HA! I, on the other hand, am about to heat up the leftovers! (11pts, btw.)
I’ve made a slow roasted tomato and garlic sauce to mix with some fettuccine and spaghetti squash with roasted green beans and a big ol’ salad for tonight after spin. YUM.
On random side notes – I never wrote my letters. I keep intending to. I have every ounce of desire to. The problem is…well, I’m not quite sure what the problem is. I just need to get it together and do it. Additionally, I updated my layout and it feels “lighter.” I like that.
I’ve had a recent jump in comments/followers/likes/etc and THANK YOU! I love the feedback and it’s nice to know that there are other like minds.
i can’t wait to see how this goes! i totally agree with what you’re saying about fruit. i’ve allowed myself to eat unlimited fruit but i have definitely been skeptical about the whole sugar thing. i found it too hard to limit myself once with fruit but i may have to try harder if this works for you. my loss has been slowwwwwwwwwww.
Yeah, I’m interested in seeing. I track daily and cut the sugar out on March 2nd and went to a wedding that night but I’ve been sugar free (basically) since then.

Yup, even with the 0 points, that fruit can come back to haunt you if you overdo it, especially on the high sugar ones. I had someone recommend once that you focus on making sure you are eating at least 2 veggie servings for every 1 serving of fruit you are eating. I’ll be curious to see how the loss holds up this week with the lower sugar fruit – good luck!
Yeah – I wasn’t even “over eating” fruit, it was just high sugar fruit. I was having three servings a day (1 apple, 1 small banana, 1 cup grapes) and now I’m having 1 cup mixed berries and 1/2 c. frozen blueberries a day. Here’s to Saturday! lol
