Portion Control

As I’m sure you know by now, the thing I struggle with most is moderation – which plays HEAVILY into portion control. Quite often, my food storage/packing/portions look like this:

You know, a little muffin toppy. Cram it all in. Push and pack it down. Takes more time than it should to close your items – if they close. If it fits, it sits.

Soooo….in attempt to help myself, I’ve purchased these and I’m loving them! They were all cheap and no more huge zip locks that I’m adding “extras” to. Smaller compartments, smaller portions. No more weighing my milk – that thermos holds 10 ounces. Soup? 10 ounces. Hot food? 10 ounces. Boom. Done. Know. Knowledge is power. Suck on that.

Bento Lunch Box Containers  (set of 3 for $13.95 and dishwasher safe! WHAT?!)

EasyLunchboxes Insulated Lunch Box Cooler Bag, Aqua (In pink, of course. $7.95)

Leak-Proof Stainless Steel 10-Ounce Food Jar, Pink ($10)

My mind is blown. I’m beyond happy. It’s the little things, people…the little things.

  1. I heart bento boxes. Those ones you got are so colorful, how fun and easy for portioning! 🙂

I bought two from Monbento this summer and am totally in love with them – dishwasher/freezer/microwave safe. Totally adorable. Yay!

  2. I think ziplock makes “disposable” versions of those bento boxes. Don’t know if I’d put them in the DW but I would imagine they hold up fine to hand washing like the other “disposable” ziplock products.
