All Up In My Pantry

story.pantry.cleanThis is what you’ll typically find in my kitchen at any given time. These are the foods in my belly:

Fruits: Raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, kiwis and plums. (I try to stay away from the higher sugar fruits. I have learned I do better with my weight loss when I don’t eat a ton of high sugar. I do occasionally have pineapple, watermelon, bananas, etc – but they are not staples in my house. I buy them as an occasional treat. )

Vegetables: asparagus, leeks, sweet potatoes, yukon gold potatoes, green beans, broccoli, kale, mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, jicama, jalapenos, onions, spaghetti squash, zucchini, summer squash, acorn squash, all of the squashes, garlic, carrots, celery, mushrooms, cauliflower

Meats: chicken, salmon, tuna, scallops, lean beef and shrimp

Dairy: 2% milk, cottage cheese, eggs, greek yogurt, sour cream, butter, cream, low fat buttermilk, cheddar cheese (low fat and regular) and Babybel Cheese (Cheese with built in portion control. Enough said. )

Pantry: (I buy a lot off of Amazon because it’s cheaper and easier, in my opinion.)

Mama Lupe Low Carb Tortillas 2PP per tortilla

Muir Glen Organic Diced Tomatoes

Jolly Time Healthy Pop Butter 94% Fat Free Weight Watchers Microwave Popcorn – 3PP a mini-bag. I’m a sucker for it. I LOVE popcorn.

Truvia Natural Sweetener This is what I use instead of splenda, sweet n low, etc. It’s natural and not all crazy.

La Croix – fizzy water. I live off of sparkling water. Because this is expensive I bought the SodaStream Machine that lets me make my own fizzy (carbonated) water and then I just squeeze a lime in it. Best thing EVER.

Blue Diamond Almonds 100 Calories Packs I have issues with portion. The more rationing the better for me. 3pp a pack.

RiceSelect Whole Grains I like to buy the variety pack because 1. it’s cheaper 2. it lasts forever 3. it’s off the chain delish. 4. I reuse the containers for other stuff in the kitchen. Like most whole grains – it’s 5PP/cup.

Dreamfields – Low Carb Pasta No taste different. Picky Eater approved. Boom.

Bell Plantation PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter and PB2 with Premium Chocolate If you are a peanut butter fan and are so sad about how high calorie it is, this is for you. I buy the dual pack because I like chocolate and plain. It’s literally ground peanuts and salt. That’s it. You reconstitute it with water. It’s 45 calories a serving (1PP) and has none of the sugar and oil in it. It actually tastes like peanuts! Imagine that?!

Kind Bars ERMAGHERD KIND BARS. I can read all of the ingredients and they are delish. Yes, please. Great combos – especially the chocolate and sea salt. Hells yes. They range between 3-6PP.

Freezer: frozen blanched veggies, ice cream/froyo, leftovers (my version of a “Lean Cuisine”), homemade frozen pizza dough, homemade frozen biscuits, frozen meat and Vitalicious Vita Tops Deep Chocolate They do have some ingredients I can’t read, but every once in a while I just need one in my life. Topped with PB2 and banana. Most are 2-3PP on WW.

Misc: I always have a good olive oil on hand and there is typically some sort of fresh bread and/or baked good on my counter. For bread that is not eaten I make breadcrumbs or freeze. The baked goods? Those are 9/10 times eaten or given away. 🙂

  1. I can vouch for this. She has all of these things. Also you better still buy those WW ice cream bars with the caramel and peanuts. I know they’re not all natural but dammit just eat one occasionally! Oh god I want one now. Oh no, red alert. Red alert.

Also, my staples, add: avocados, salsa, hummus, snow peas, edamame (frozen), those little bags of sweet peppers, lemons and/or limes, mushrooms.

The mushrooms, sweet peppers, and snow peas can be dipped into the hummus, or I make a dip with the Greek yogurt and avocado…or Greek yogurt, garlic, and cucumbers (that’s right – hey tzatziki!), or Greek yogurt and spicy mustard (also a good topping for baked chicken). I use all of the Greek yogurt. All of the time.

Greek yogurt and agave nectar and berries NOMNOMNOM.

    Greek yogurt.

  2. I am a likin’ your pantry. I officially signed up for WW online today so a step in the right direction. And I ordered a treadmill so I can start running even when it rains. I will need to try the mini bag popcorn, I adore popcorn…probably a little too much. I have heard a lot about PB2 on myfitnesspal but never tried it. Might make a good snack with some celery instead of the high calorie version.

  3. WOOHOO! Congrats on signing up!

Yeah, the popcorn is awesome and it’s the best “light” one I can find. The PB2 is awesome, too. I like it with apples, celery, etc. I even bake with it. 🙂

  4. I love PB2 now that I’ve figured out how I like to eat it. I hate using it like normal PB, but it’s awesome mixing it in oatmeal and just using it in recipes where it’s mixed with other stuff. Never tried the chocolate because I don’t know if my store sells it. Bummer.
